Ophthalmologist Questions Mole removal

Is a mole removal inside the eyelid safe?

I have been having pretty bad eye pain that developed gradually over the last few months. I finally got my eyes examined, only to be told by my doctor that I have a mole growing inside my eyelid that is irritating my eye. How safe is it to get that kind of mole removed?

It is very safe in the hands of a skilled ophthalmologist.
Safe if done by an oculoplastic surgeon. It should be completely excised and sent to a pathologist to examine. There could be a possibility it is a melanoma.
An eyelid mole can be a mild freckle. It can also be a cancerous lesion. If it is growing it should have a biopsy and sent to pathology. The best person to do this is an experienced general ophthalmologist that is comfortable with this procedure or an oculoplastic surgeon.
There are many types of lesions that can occur on the inside of an eyelid, such as chalazia or tumors. I would suggest you see an eye MD ophthalmologist. She will be able to diagnose and treat these growths.
Yes, likely safe.
It is usually very safe.

Your doctor should be able to advise you. If it grows surgery is advisable as it could become a cancerous growth
