Is there an over the counter medication for depression?

I have a family member who is in his upper 70's, who is a diabetic, has heart issues, cholesterol issues, arthritis, and I'm not sure what else he may have. He tested positive for Covid-19 back in late March, and a few times since. He is saying that he is feeling a little depressed. Is there something that he can get over the counter for it?

Even sunshine can help depression. I believe vitamins folic acid, fish oil these essential components could help to some extend. Acupuncture, self message, physical activity and meditation etc could also help. Depends on severity.
He can try SAMe supplement I would recommend as well due to diabetes, heart issues, cholesterol to also add CoQ10, and an adaptogen. He may have issues with mitochondria dysfunction at this point.
I don t know of a specific over-the-counter medication that is sold as an antidepressant. In my opinion, learning some mindfulness practices would be much more helpful. I would also recommend you read Anatomy of an Epidemic to get a better idea of how medications fit into the larger picture of dealing with depression.
