Physical Therapist Questions Bone stiffness

Why has my knee become so stiff?

Lately my knee has become very stiff and I am unable to bend it as much as the other one. What could be the reason for the same?

Tough to say- depends on so many factors: age, activity level, injury history, changes in weight, diet etc. Knee stiffness is usually a sign of some internal joint swelling, leading to joint fullness and loss of motion.
Knee stiffness can result from overuse, injury, arthritis, or inflammation. It may also be due to conditions like meniscus tears or ligament sprains. Rest, ice, and gentle stretching might help. If the stiffness persists or worsens, consult a doctor for a proper diagnosis and tailored treatment plan.
There are so many causes. It could be inflammation, gout, arthritis, post trauma, or OA. You really need a diagnosis, please see an orthopedic doctor.
There could be an array of reasons. A further detailed assessment would be required with more information. I suggest having an evaluation with a physical therapist. A licensed physical therapist has direct access meaning you can see them without a prescription for 30 days UNLESS a referral is required by your insurance. If therapy doesn’t help they will most likely refer you to an orthopedist to have a closer look via diagnostic tests. However, your condition doesn’t seem to be too involved based on your initial question. Remember motion is lotion! Motion helps with joint lubrication directly impacting overall mobility. All the best.
It might be from joint stiffness and muscle stiffness. PT will help.

There are many conditions that can cause this stiffness. It's possible that your knee has arthritic changes occurring, so it's best to see a physical therapist for a proper exercise routine and to get educated about what is happening to your knee in order to avoid future injury.
There are many potential possibilities. My experience is that you can't just treat the knee itself. It would have to be evaluated and most likely the entire leg would be addressed. This would also include your foot on the same side.
