Hey I'm a dancer I dance every single day and for a month now my left lower leg on the outside has been hurting. Is it shin splints or over working?

Perhaps. Go get checked out
It is both. Shin splints are due to the sudden onset of overworking the muscles of the leg. It happens in runners, soccer players, basketball, and baseball players most of the time. The only cure is to rest. You must reduce the frequency and severity of your workouts if you expect them to get better. Take Advil 3 tablets with each meal for 2 weeks. If the rest and advil don't get you better, see an Orthopaedic specialist. Hope it helps!
Probably not shin splints. It could be anything from a localized exercised-induced compartment syndrome, activity, or even a compressed nerve in your back. Evaluation by an Orthopaedics sports medicine specialist would be the next step if rest does not alleviate the symptoms.
It's not shin splints based on described location. It's likely a sprain which is not getting better due to over-working (you are basically not letting it get better)
