“I am just 26 years old and my kneecap hurts while exercising. Is it a bone deficiency?”
I am 26 years old and my weight is around 200 lb. I am 5'7" and female. I am jogging and doing various exercises to lose weight. However, I feel a lot of pain in my kneecap while doing so. Is it just the weight or some kind of deficiency?

The pain in your kneecap while exercising could be due to several factors, including overuse, improper biomechanics, or muscle imbalances. Excess weight may also contribute. It's advisable to consult a healthcare professional for a proper evaluation to determine the cause and appropriate treatment plan.

Hello, it's not uncommon to develop irritation in the tissues lining the kneecap, especially with jogging. I would not attribute this to any kind of deficiency. Maybe take a break from jogging for a week and shift to fast-walking instead; then see if there's any change in the symptoms.
If the pain persists, it might be worth it to see an orthopedic PT to assess your leg-hip-back alignment.

It can be just a muscular imbalance in your strength or how your are moving/ exercising which would be “mechanical.” An assessment with a physical therapist can help you determine the cause and provide you with a treatment plan to address the knee pain. All the best!
That could be chronic strain or sprain on the patellar tendon ,or some kind of inflammation around the kneecap, you need an accurate diagnosis, please see your primary care for x ray or you might see an orthopedic surgeon for full orthopedic consultation.
I would suggest you see a physical therapist for further evaluation. There are many reasons why this is happening. A physical examination and/or imaging will provide more information.
