Neurologist Questions head pain

Pain in the back of the head. What could have caused it?

I have pain in the back of my head, and I'm pretty sure it's not from any injury--I haven't taken any serious falls or anything like that. What could have caused this random pain, and would I need an MRI to find out?

Need to have a Neuro evaluation. Could be transferred pain.
Occipital neuralgia can cause these symptoms and may be amenable to occipital nerve injections and block. Other causes include cervicigenic migraine and cervical disease. May also be simple muscle pain or myalgia. If it is bothering you, see a neurologist.
