Two things that can reduce your risk, or staying regular, and avoiding sex. Higher level of progesterone during pregnancy causes constipation. Make sure you do what is needed. Second, avoid sexual activity, or consider taking an antibiotic which is safe for pregnancy when you are sexually active as a single dose. Ask your OB about it.
- Increase fluid intake.
- Empty your bladder immediately after intercourse.
- Practice good hygiene. Wipe from front to back after you urinate to prevent the spreading of bacteria.
- Drink cranberry juice.
