“My father is 72 years old and suffering from asthma. Can he take up respiratory therapy after his bypass?”
My father is 72 years old and he recently had a bypass surgery. He is also an asthma patient and after the bypass he is experiencing shortness of breath. Should we start respiratory therapy for him to give him some comfort? Or will this be too stressful for him?

You might want to have HRN do the therapy, it’s covered by insurance and they hold the highest success rate.

You should talk with his doctor about the shortness of breath. Is it fitting activity, at rest, etc.. and what is the severity level? Some bronchodilators might include cardiac side effects, but there are some that wouldn't. Breathing exercises can also help - pursed lip breathing, diaphragmatic breathing, etc.. definitely speak with his cardiologist though.
