Swelling in ankles and feet?

About 6 weeks ago my knees were extremely sensitive. Kneeling down was unbearable came out of nowhere. This took a while to heal, then the swelling started, now I'm constantly having swelling feet and ankles.

The most common reason would be inflammation with swelling of the knees. This may be due to one of many forms of arthritis. Less common but not rare are cardiac and/or kidney problems. Important to know if any other asymptote in knees such as catching or locking. Two knees at one time can be overuse( such as kneeling/climbing) or arthritis. If swelling persists with elevation, ice and mild activity should follow up with PCP or Orthopedic surgeon. Good luck.
New onset swelling in both lower extremities is more than likely a vascular issue or lymphatic blockage; most common if there is no localized pain, would be venous insufficiency, followed by lymphatic blockage, and finally congestive heart disease.
