My daughter needs anesthesia soon, and I was wondering what anesthesia is best for children under 12?

It depends upon the type of surgery. For major surgeries, I recommend general anesthesia. Minor surgeries could be done under local and IV sedation.
The ‘best’ choice of anesthesia always takes into account the risks, benefits, and alternatives in relation to both your child and the surgical procedure involved
There is no one anesthetic that is better or worse. Hopefully, this is not an elective procedure, though. It is best to avoid surgery and anesthesia if at all possible. However, if she could have a regional anesthetic, that would be better.
For most procedures, children will be given a general anesthetic.
