Anything other than Vertex (head down) is abnormal.
Any baby who is either in the transverse position where the baby is lying in transverse position, perpendicular to the mother's abdomen, or breech position where the baby's head is up and the baby's buttocks are in the pelvis-alcohol malpresentation's. In this situation, in labor, the mother would require a cesarean delivery. The baby could be head down in the pelvis, but still have abnormal positions like face presentation or chin presentation or face up presentation. These are situations where normal vaginal delivery can be either difficult or not possible without complications.
Face presentation of baby, baby’s head side ways, we call it transverse position of baby’s head or fetal brow presentation, legs first (breech)
Hello and thank you for your question. In general, any position other than cephalic/vertex, meaning head down is abnormal. They include breech and transverse fetal lie. In the vertex position, if fetus is mentum anterior, this is also considered abnormal.

Hope this helps,
