What are the best ways to prevent running injuries?

My 15-year old daughter loves running and is one of the best runners in school. Despite that, she's had a couple of big injuries. I'd like to know what are the best ways to prevent running injuries so that it doesn't happen that often?

Good shoes. Proper training (avoid overuse).
Train properly. Do not over train. Make sure nutrition is appropriate.
Make sure she stretches before running. She needs to drink 16 oz of dairy daily and not lose too much weight while running.
