Immediately after the procedure, need to restrict lifting and some activities. After the immediate phase, no restrictions are needed. YOU MUST TAKE YOUR MEDICATIONS AS DIRECTED or risk "clotting" your stent. This event is called stent thrombosis and the risk of dying is quite high. DO NOT STOP YOUR ANTI-PLATELETS UNLESS OKAYED BY THE CARDIOLOGIST.
There should be no restrictions after stent placement. Unless the stent was placed because of an acute heart attack, then the restrictions would depend on how serious the attack was, how much heart muscle was involved. But, stent placement without heart damage should have no restrictions. Antiplatelet medication such as aspirin and either brilliant or placid will be given and may have an increased bleeding risk and patients should be cautious.
The drug is plavix not placid
