“What are the symptoms of prostate problems?”
I'm a 35 year old male. I've been peeing a lot lately. I worry about prostate cancer and other prostate issues. Are there other symptoms I should look out for?

The good news is you are too young for prostate cancer. Most prostate symptoms are obstructive in nature and don’t start until around age 48 to 50. If you have irritating symptoms, that may be a sign of a urinary tract infection or a bladder problem. Most patients with prostate issues complain of decreased force in your stream, hesitancy to void and intermittent obstructed voiding patterns. Unfortunately, prostate cancer is usually silent and gives off no symptoms. This is why it is imperative to get your first PSA at age 50 with no family history, and 45 with a family history.

Enlarged prostate symptoms include: frequency, dribbling, hesitancy, intermittent urine flow, retention. These are just a few. If you are having any of these symptoms see your doctor and they can do a quick rectal exam to asses. They can also check your urine to rule out an infection or even diabetes.
