Depends on how bad the fracture was and if you needed surgery or not. Usually you’ll need a hinged knee brace with progression of the range of motion of the knee while walking on your leg for 6-8 weeks
You need to see your doctor urgently for the start of proper treatment. The treatment of broken knee cap (patella) depends on the displacement of fracture.

Usually good function after healing, but earlier risk of arthritis later in life.
Usually a full recovery depending on how badly your patella was fractured.
