An orthopiledist is a bone specialist. They can diagnose the cause of your pain. They may perform injections such as an epidural steroid injection if indicated and there are various surgicsl.procedures depending on the cause of your back pain they can perform. Always try conservative management before getting surgery(unless it's emergency) and always get a second opinion. Find more info re back pain on FB pagd: chronicpainrescue.
For starters, make a diagnosis of the reason your back hurts. It shouldn't in a 15-year-old.
An "Orthopedic doctor" is generally a surgeon and they do surgery, sometimes needed, but not very often in a 15 year old. Start with a physician examination, a good pediatrician, especially one with sports training, a Physiatrist, or a really good physical therapist. If physical therapy does not help initially, see a physician who can decide if imaging can help.
Your doctor needs to make sure that you do not have a stress fracture. If you do not have a stress fracture, you can be treated with physical therapy and medication.
The good ones make you understand the possible reasons for the pain, and then give you beneficial guidance as to what you can do to make the pain feel less disruptive to your life. In addition, give you recommendations to other healthcare providers to help you begin to function better in your daily life activities.

You need a proper diagnosis first. Most team doctors are sports medicine doctors who do not do surgery, so we offer treatments that keep you out of the operating room. Seek out a local sports medicine physician for help.
