What can you do after eyelid surgery?

I need to have an eyelid surgery next week. What can I do after eyelid surgery? What activities are considered 'safe' after this procedure?

Hello, you should not perform any strenuous activity such as heavy lifting, or exercising for a few weeks. However, you should consult with your surgeon before the surgery regarding your post operative instructions. They should be able to provide you with a booklet. Take it easy for the first 5 days. After suture Removal, your surgeon will slowly release you to increase your activity level.
This matter should be discussed with your operating surgeon. In general,Recovery from eyelid surgery is fairly straightforward. Since there is swelling and bruising it is important to apply cold compresses within the first 48 hours. Most of my patients are out and about the next day wearing sunglasses to run errands. No strenuous activity or heavy workouts for 1 to 2 weeks. Good luck.
Eyelid surgery is very well tolerated and safe. Most activities can be resumed soon after surgery with minimal restrictions. Aggressive physical activity, swimming, and other strenuous or unhygienic activities are discouraged. After 2-3 weeks healing is typically sufficient to remove all restrictions.
You probably engage in your normal activities. The important thing is not all around your eyelids. For example, exposing them to dirty water.
