What can you do for a swollen tongue?

I am a 21 year old female and I noticed that my tongue is swollen. What can you do for a swollen tongue?

Go to the ER
Depends on why its swollen . . . If you are a mouth breather, then you may want to get checked by an ENT. If you have a diet that is high in processed foods, then you may want to change your diet. A swollen tongue is usually a sign of systemic issues and needs to be followed up with by a licensed physician.
You may be experiencing an allergic reaction or perhaps have eaten something that inflamed the tongue. See a dentist for evaluation and treatment.
