Psychologist Questions Compulsive liar

What causes someone to be a compulsive liar?

My sister is a compulsive liar, and it's really bad. She's had this problem for a while and I noticed that she lies to everyone, even me. It's affected her relationships, with friends and family, and now she can't even hold a job. What could cause someone to lie so much... and is there treatment for this?

She needs validation. Ask her what she is afraid of.
According to the first psychoanalitic school of psychologist there are some personalities structures in the brain that competes themseives for a limited quantity of energy called libido (unconcious ) that gives pleassure when doing it. During the personality formation of the individue, the battle between those stuctures can fix in to a an specific psychopatological behavior. According to Sigmond Freud, if a patient, during its first two and a half years of life, becomes frustrated by his(her) parents or environment will occur traumatism. By this age the individue is using defense meschanisms like represion, negation, fantasy and others. So the fixed psychopathological pattern will explain its obsesive compulsive conduct. Obsesive are his (her ) ideas and thoughs. Compulsive is the act of laying in the patient. She will need psychoanalitic therapy.
