Tooth fissures are a normal anatomy in most cases, possibly that is the way you are designed by mother nature. Although it is the case we generally see fissures being caused by habits such as brushing, tooth picking, soda drinking, eating certain foods, grinding your teeth and so on. I recommend you consult your dentist to see you are at risk of fracturing your tooth since certain fissures case even break a tooth.
