What foods can't you eat with dentures?

I am a 60 year old male. I will get dentures next month. What foods can't you eat with dentures?

Depending on the types of dentures you are getting, you should be able to eat most everything.
Even if the dentures fit perfectly, there are foods that are going to be difficult to chew on, for instance: apples, hard crusty bread, beef steaks, sticky candy, etc.
First, it's best to just get used to wearing them. It's a big transition of learning to chew, speak, and swallow with them. Your muscles have to get used to them all over again.
Good luck!
There is nothing specifically prohibited as far as eating food with dentures compared to natural teeth. You don' want to chew ice with either. you should be very cautious with eating harder foods-nuts and such. You are not likely to be able to eat corn on the cob or apples and such from an ability to perform the required task point. Trying to eat them in the normal manner can dislodge or break front teeth or the denture. But cutting them up and eating in another manner works just fine
All types assuming they fit well and don't come out when doing so. Lower dentures are notorious for not staying in place too long unless a lot of poly grip's used.
You need to start with soup and liquids, then soft foods. You have to start slowly. Right now, a sandwich will be too much. You may need some denture adhesive. You first have to get used to having your dentures in your mouth. Being able to talk clearly, some new denture wearers will be able to talk clearly immediately; some patients will need a little time. If you make an effort, YOU will succeed.
