You can eat anything healthy, no specific food should be avoided.

I would say paleo diet is good for hypothyroidism.

Rather than asking what foods to avoid, it is imperative to learn how to eat the right foods and combine them the right way so that your thyroid will be able to respond correctly. Its like putting sand in your car's engine and then asking which gas is the best gas to help keep your car running better. First, stop putting sand in the engine. Then worry about the gas. You need to look at your food intake as a whole to identify best choices.
NONE! FOOD HAS LITTLE TO DO WITH THE THYROID EXCEPT IN AREAS WHERE THE SOIL IS LOW IN IODINE THAT IS NEEDED BY THE GLAND TO MAKE THYROID HORMONE. THEN IODINIZED SALT IS NEEDED. I HAVE HYPOTHYROIDISM & EAT ABOUT EVERY THING. TAKE YOUR MEDICINE THOUGH ON AN EMPTY STOMACH SINCE FOOD WILL SLOW OR PREVENT THE ABSORPTION OF THE MEDICINE. If YOUR HYPOTHYROID IS CONTROLED BY THE PROPER DOSE OF THYROID HORMONE & YOU HAVE NO OTHER DISEASE,YOU CAN EAT ABOUT ANYTHING. ENJOY!!
