“What happens after elbow fracture surgery?”
I am a 25 year old male and I will have elbow fracture surgery. What happens after elbow fracture surgery?

I am not an orthopedic surgeon and your surgeon is probably the best person to ask, however, you will likely be placed in what's called a splint to prevent movement in the area for a period of time anywhere from 2-6 weeks depending on the injury and procedure performed.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Depends on type of fracture. Some are soft dressing only and immediate range of motion. Some will be in a splint 2 weeks before starting ROM. Most, but not all, require physical therapy starting at 2-6 week.
Physical therapy and rehab after elbow surgery depend on type of the fracture. You can discuss with your surgeon.
Your doctor will immobilize you until the incision heals and they may also allow you to move with a brace, etc. Normal activities typically require fracture healing in six to eight weeks.
