Milk is a source of calcium and is many times fortified with Vit D. Many patients with dairy sensitivities simply take a calcium supplement so they don’t have to worry about drinking milk. Also, there are many countries in the world that do not have access to cow’s milk or even pasteurized dairy products; again access to calcium is what is important.
Hello,
Plenty of people do not drink milk during pregnancy and it is fine. It is loaded with calories anyway. You can get your calcium from many different sources. As long as you have a regular diet, you will be fine.
I hope that this helps.

Drinking milk during pregnancy is intended to provide a pregnant woman sufficient calcium for the pregnancy and growing fetus. The Institute of Medicine recommends 1,000 milligrams of calcium a day during pregnancy. However, milk is not the only way to obtain calcium; there are many other non-dairy choices in addition to calcium supplements.
