If one doesn't shave before laser hair removal, it decreases the efficacy of the treatment. In short, it gives the laser a larger target.

If your hairs are too long at the time of laser hair removal, they will singe and you will feel a burn. Shave about 1 week prior to your appt and have short stubble at the time of your appointment.
