What happens when you get adjusted by a chiropractor?

I am a 27 year old male. I want to get a chiropractic adjustment. What happens when you get adjusted by a chiropractor?

Adjustments remove interferences in the body. This allows the nervous system to function properly, so the rest of the organs function optimally. There is more movement in the joints (increase in range of motion), relaxation, and ultimately decrease in pain following the adjustment. Oftentimes, there is a "crack" sound that may be heard during the adjustment -- do not be alarmed, as this is gas being released in the joints of the spine. Overall, chiropractic is a very effective and safe treatment for EVERYONE: it helps people of all ages, professional and non-professional athletes, those who are in pain, as well as those who wish to maintain their healthy lifestyle.

When you get adjusted by a chiropractor you feel a rush of energy throughout your body. Some people breathe easier. You feel more balanced and more alive. It’s an awesome feeling and I highly recommend you go.
There are several techniques in the health field of chiropractic so how you are adjusted will vary by the doctor's preferences. Physically, the end result will be very similar no matter what the technique is. The chiropractic adjustments lead to homeostasis, health and increased resistance to disease and illness. Understanding that the adjustment corrects the subluxation complex and normalizes (normal is optimal) both the structural (motion and alignment) and neurological (nociceptive and proprioceptive) components. Chiropractic is based on the scientifically proven hypothesis that proper structure of the spine is required for proper function of the nervous system as it relates tot he control and regulation of global physiology and
health.
The chiropractor will evaluate you first to determine where an adjustment needs to be made. A traditional “cracking“ adjustment will usually be performed. I tend to use in adjusting instrument often as a lot of people don’t like being “cracked.“ It’s common to feel soreness for a day or two after the adjustment, but then the soreness goes away. Most people in our office tend to feel reduce stress and reduce discomfort after adjustments.
An adjustment aligns the vertebral joints in the spine to allow for proper spinal function as well as reducing inflammation and pain. This reduction of inflammation and proper alignment and function of the spine also allows the nerves which exit the spine to transmit their signals to and from the brain to the rest of the body, more efficiently.
It depends on the technique used, but the object is to remove nerve interference.
