I am a 33 year old female and I have an eye infection. What is the best antibiotic for an eye infection?

Depends on the diagnosis. A complete ophthalmologic exam should be performed.
If you have an eye infection you need to see an ophthalmologist immediately.
There are many kinds of antibiotic eye drops and they treat different infections. I suggest you see an eye doctor to figure out what kind of bug infection you have, then choose the proper antibiotics.

Most eye infections in adults are viral. The viral group that does this are called adenoviruses and there is NO antiviral for this class. If you have recently had trauma, had an ulcer from a contact lens, had recent surgery, then bacterial infection is possible, but these can be rapidly destructive and you should be with an ophthalmologist care immediately for these. If viral, no antibiotic is necessary and it could induce the presence of an antibiotic resistant bacteria.
