Endocarditis is an infection on a heart valve (native valve or prostheticvalve). the infection can be cause by bacteria or fungus. the causes are varied including IV drug use, dental cleaning, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, blood sepsis etc.
infection in the heart muscle cause by bacteria that is introduced into the blood stream. Usually happens in patients that has low immunity and are at high risk for infection
