I recommend going to a Podiatrist who can take the nail out and give you the treatment that needs to be followed as instructed. This is the best and fastest way of doing toe fungus. Thank you.
The answer is depending on the fungus growing in your toe. I recommend that you see a local podiatrist for treatment options

Lamisil pill for 3 months. It is very safe and you take it once a day for 3 months and the medicine works for 6 months. It is very effective.
I’ve found that a multi pronged approach works best treating the nail, skin, and shoes where fungus is found. I have had excellent results with Tolcylen products by Marlinz Pharmaceutical
Toenail fungus can be a difficult problem to address. There are 3 ways to treat it: 1. Oral medication. 2. Topical therapy. 3. Surgery. I recommend you make an appointment with a podiatrist (foot and ankle surgeon) to discuss the options and the appropriate treatment in your case.
The most effective treatment for toenail fungus is an oral medication called Lamisil (Terbinafine). The pill must be taken every day for 3 months, but you won't see full results for 9 months after starting the medication. The pill is safe, but is processed by your liver, so you may not take the medication unless a liver function panel is performed to evaluate your liver functions, and you may not take the medication if you are on certain other medications, or if you have any kind of liver issues. There are also topical treatments. Many of the topical treatments are expensive, and may not be covered by insurance companies. Furthermore, a topical treatment must be used for 9 months to 4 years, often without curing the issue.
in answer to your question, is that there is no specific treatment for fungus nails. There are many over-the-counter treatments. However, I would suggest that you check with a foot and ankle surgeon or dermatologist and then get a biopsy which will tell you what type of fungus nail of the ears and then the appropriate treatment.

I have treated toenail fungus for 40 years. I use 2 different medications- 1)oral terbinafine for 3 months, but this requires blood tests.2) topical Formula 7 for 6 months. This is only available through a podiatrist. The 2 other prescription topical antifungals are very expensive (copays of $80 a bottle) and they must be used for 1 year. Formula 7 is inexpensive and they offer a $ back guarantee. The antifungal in it is a common one, but they have a patent on altering the molecular structure that allows the medication to penetrate through the skin and nail plate to the root (matrix) underneath. That's why it frequently works. I have been using it successfully for a long time. Nothing works for everyone though. So if one way doesn't work, then I try the other route. The stuff they sell in the drug store rarely works and there are many urban legends about tea tree oil, vick's vaporub and other placebos that waste your time and $.
Depends on the species of fungus. There are several topicals that are effective, but only if you are treating the actual pathogen. There are oral medications as well. I have yet to find an effective home remedy that is effective, but they do make it more manageable. I recommend a simple sample of nail and send for pathological evaluation to guide correct treatment, otherwise, you may be wasting your efforts and money.

There are many over-the-counter products, but the best ones need a prescription. You would need to get them from a podiatrist.
Hello. Oral antifungal medication is the best option but there are risks invovled: liver damage, congestive heart failure and bone marrow suppression are possible.
