What medication is used to treat vertigo?

I am a 30 year old male who has vertigo. What medication is used to treat vertigo?

1 Answer

Safe medications for persistent vertigo(which means a sensation of rotary motion, or the world "spinning") include MECLIZINE, PHENERGAN, and other OTC antihistamines-like Benadryl(or chlorpheniramine, eg)

If these do not help, BENZIDIAZEPINES(like diazepam or lorazepam--which are also used for anxiety) may also help if symptoms are persistent and severe; but these can be habit forming and may cause falling and neurologic deterioration if used for for prolonged time periods in the elderly.
