There are many factors that need to be taken into consideration to help determine if you are a good candidate. It is best to confirm with your doctor if you are a eligible for laser eye surgery.
People with thin corneas. Do not perform if you or somebody in your biological family has keratoconus or other leratoectasias. Most people with low to moderate myopia are okay. They will test for the other contraindications. People with high astigmatism can be done, but are more problematic.

Patients under 21 years of age, patients with an unstable refractive error, those with certain medical conditions such as collagen vascular disease, and patients with eye disease such as cataract or keratoconus are generally not suited for laser vision correction. This does not pertain to other forms of laser eye surgery. Ask your ophthalmologist or optometrist if you are a good candidate. SO
Only a detailed exam can determine if you are suitable for laser vision correction. Special measurements of your eye will be taken along with a detailed exam. Most LASIK evaluations are at no charge.

This is not a question you can answer without being examined by your optometrist. The best age to have LASIK is in your mid 20s to early 30s with a prescription of mid to high near-sightedness. But you must be free of eye diseases like Keratoconus or other corneal diseases. In some cases other types of refractive surgery can be performed instead. Expectations for outcomes must be reasonable. They are able to correct astigmatism, nearsightedness and farsightedness. Talk to your optometrist and get a dilated exam and consultation. They need a typography of your corner and a retinal evaluation and you skills try to remove your contact lenses a few days prior to your evaluation if possible.
There are multiple factors to consider when deciding who is a good candidate for laser surgery. Most Centers that provide laser eye surgery have free screenings to determine if you are a good candidate. In general, you need to have a prescription that is stable for ~3 years. Degree of myopia/hyperopia, corneal structure and thickness, and tear film quality are all factors your doctor will take into consideration.
Not good candidates are severe dry eye and a cornea that is too flat. Also any corneal diseases like keratoconus also contraindicated
