Orthopaedic Surgeon Questions foot pain

Why are the soles of my feet sore when I wake up?

I'm 45, and the soles of my feet are typically sore when I wake up. They hurt for about 30 minutes and then the pain disappears. Why does this happen?

You could have a mild case of plantar fasciitis. Try stretching exercises and arch supports.
Usually from a neurological (nerve related) or vascular (circulation related) cause. You may need to go ahead and see a good neurologist to have that evaluated.
This is most likely to be related to plantar fasciitis, which is treated with ice, massage, stretching, and physical therapy. It will usually improve slowly with time no matter what you try over several months. If you consult the website ortho.org, it will provide further information.
Good luck!
