“Why do my hands become dry and cracked with cold weather?”
I'm 45, and I noticed that every winter, the skin on my hands is dry and cracked. Sometimes they bleed because it's so bad. Why does this happen?

Hand dermatitis can be caused by many things. There is a breakdown in the skin barrier and many things contribute to it. Cold weather, frequent hand washing, gloves, chemicals, are a few things that cost tribute to the breakdown. Frequent moisturizing with a good emollient will help. Sometimes, cortisone ointments are necessary.
