Write down any associate symptoms in diary and discuss with his doctor unless there is significant weight loss and loss of appetite.
Where is the pain? If upper abdomen think ulcer, reflux, gastritis, overeating before lying down. If around belly button usually constipation , irritable bowel, and if lower abdomen think bladder, kidney infection or stones, Abdominal migraines are also common at this age
