I am a 32 year old male. I had LASIK eye surgery 2 months ago. Why does my eye always burn after having LASIK?

Dry eye post-LASIK surgery is common. Treatment includes artificial tears or lubricating drops. Contact your surgeon if symptoms persist or get worse.
The most likely cause is dryness. It is common to experience dryness following Lasik procedures. In the large majority of cases, this will resolve slowly over time. It is more uncommon to experience some dryness long-term after having the procedure. I would try using artificial tear drops which you can get over-the-counter in any drugstore. Refresh and Systane are two good brands to try. I would use them up to 4 times a day if needed. If that & giving it time to resolve on its own doesn't help, then I would return to see the doctor who performed the procedure.
Your eyes are probably dry. This is a frequent occurrence after LASIK. Use preservative-free artificial tears every hour for now. You can decrease as your symptoms improve.
Probably because your eyes are dry . I would use nonpreserved tears when they burn. The symptoms will likely resolve in the next 3-4 months. If symptoms worsen see an eyecare doctor
Burning eyes can be a symptom of dry eye. LASIK uses a device that creates a flap in the cornea. When it makes a flap, it cuts through tissue and nerves, including nerves which are responsible for regulating basal tear production. These nerves typically do grow back within 6 months. You should use artificial tears 2-4x/day minimum daily until your eyes no longer burn. If you are needing to use them more than that, you should see your eye doctor for more tailored treatment.
It could be dry eye that was increased because of the LASIK surgery or it could be something else. The best thing you could do is go back to your surgeon for a follow-up or see your optometrist.
There are several causes of burning in the eyes (with or without a history of LASIK). Having had LASIK, the two most common causes of hypersensitivity and “burning“ sensation is ocular surface dryness. Definitely work with your LASIK surgeon to minimize this, if it’s adding to your difficulties. They should be able to tell through their examinations if there are signs of dryness. The second common cause of hypersensitivity after LASIK (which can add to dryness) is that your eyes have gone a long time with a protective covering from wind/dust/allergens/debris, i.e., your glasses or contacts. But after LASIK, if we are no longer wearing contacts or glasses, the surface of the eye is more exposed to the world than ever before. Hopefully this helps. The bottom line is that it can be from a lot of different things, and I would recommend you follow up with your LASIK surgeon to see what needs to be done to minimize this for you.
Burning can be a sign of dryness which often happens shortly after Lasik surgery when the corneal nerves are cut. Sometimes that dryness can persist and cause your cornea to become irritated. It would be best to discuss these symptoms with your Lasik surgeon and have him re-evaluate you to determine if any other cause may exist.
After lasik a side effect is decreased tear production. May need to purchase artificial tears to supplement your own
