Dr. Herbert is an internationally recognized fertility specialist who has been performing in-vitro fertilization longer than any other physician in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is known for building long lasting relationships with his patients while using the latest reproductive technology available.

Dr. Herbert earned his medical degree from the University of Florida as a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and gained a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Dr. Herbert joined the Vanderbilt teaching faculty upon completion of his fellowship and served as the Director of the Reproductive Endocrinology Division for two years.

Soon after, Dr. Herbert’s passion for patient care and technology brought him together with long time colleague Dr. Eldon Schriock, to collaborate,  purchase and reorganize the Pacific Fertility Center.

Dr. Herbert is the president of Pacific Fertility Center and continues to be involved with reproductive research maintaining an active interest in the ethical dilemmas confronting reproductive technologists in the 21st century.

Dr. Herbert served as 2002-3 President of the Society For Humanism in Medicine and spearheaded their CME program "The Human Embryo: Issues Surrounding the Beginnings of Life."

Dr. Herbert was instrumental in the development of one of the first assisted reproductive technology programs in the United States at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is an internationally recognized fertility specialist who has been performing in-vitro fertilization longer than any other physician in the Bay Area. This experience provides him with a unique perspective as he incorporates the latest developments in reproductive technology into patient care.

Dr. Herbert is Board Certified by The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

He is an accomplished clinical researcher and author of numerous articles and chapters for professional medical publications.

The team of physicians at Pacific Treatment & IVF Center have been recognized internationally for their extensive clinical experience, outstanding academic credentials and research contributions. The entire team including Dr. Herbert have been continually voted "Best Doctors in America.
