Get to know Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Dr. Jeffrey L. Hamblin, who serves patients in Sarasota, Florida.

Dr. Hamblin is a top child and adolescent psychiatrist who tends to patients at Centerstone in Sarasota, Florida, and a priest at St. Boniface Episcopal Church on Siesta Key. With over three decades of experience in his field, his goal is to advance mental, physical, and spiritual health for all.

Centerstone in Sarasota offers outpatient mental health counseling and support & physician services to the Sarasota community. The team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, nurses, counselors, case managers, and recovery staff tailor treatment to each individual’s preferences and personal life goals. They provide a level of care right for each individual.

Presently, Dr. Hamblin also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor and Attending at Children’s Mental Health at the SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, a Board of Trustees member of AUC, and a private telepsychiatry practice in  NYC.  Prior to his current endeavors, he worked as a child and adolescent psychiatry at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn.

Dr. Hamblin’s academic career includes his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in 1992 completing his residency in psychiatry and his fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in New York. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Spanish from Indiana University Bloomington and a Master of Divinity degree from Nashotah House in Wisconsin. 

Child and adolescent psychiatry, also known as pediatric psychiatry, is a branch of psychiatry that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders in children, adolescents, and their families. A child and adolescent psychiatrist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of thinking, feeling, as well as behavior affecting children, adolescents, and their families.

In addition to English, Dr. Hamblin speaks Spanish.
