A highly accomplished, award-winning child and adolescent psychiatrist, Dr. Jones provides care to children and adolescent patients with mental health problems as well as those who are or have been involved with the law and family court. As a lifelong champion for children and a mother herself, her inspiration comes from a place of service, acceptance and understanding, which is why she founded Empowerment Changes Everything LLC, to change the lives of children and teens for the better with therapy and guidance.
Specializing in autism and child legal concerns, she provides treatment for children and their families to achieve and maintain mental wellness. Since she is from Brooklyn, she has a heart for children and adolescents who have been impacted by urban trauma. As the daughter of West Indian parents, Dr. Jones had always been raised to value academic achievement. After graduating South Shore High School, she attended Penn State University on a full scholarship as an honors student where she received her Bachelor of Science degree. She then went on to attend medical school at Penn State College of Medicine where she discovered she had a tremendous interest in psychology, a field she never expected to love.
Upon graduation, she performed her residency in psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and her fellowship in forensic psychiatry at Montefiore Medical Center. She then completed an additional fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center.
With an authentic ability to empathize with others, Dr. Jones is board-certified in forensic psychiatry & psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.
Among her professional affiliations, she is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law.
