Dr. Bikkina is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and the Society of Vascular Medicine. He is Chairman of the Human Resources Committee of the Englewood Health Physician Network; Director of the NRI Academy of Sciences Medical College and Hospital, India; as well as Director of the Aayush Hospitals, India. Furthermore, he is affiliated with several hospitals and medical centers in the New Jersey area, including Valley Hospital, Hackensack University Medical Center, Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, and St. Joseph’s Hospital - where he is Co-Chief of Cardiology.
Dr. Bikkina is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons (NBPAS). The NBPAS is committed to providing certification that ensures physician compliance with national standards and promotes lifelong learning.
Dr. Bikkina received his medical degree from Guntur Medical College in Guntur, India. Wanting to further his education, he earned his Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Bikkina then went on to complete his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Michigan State University in Saginaw, Michigan, followed by fellowship trainings in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama, in addition to a fellowship training in Cardiology at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts.
Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology. As an interventional & endovascular cardiologist, Dr. Bikkina has vast expertise in his line of work, stating “I practice medicine in order to help patients who are suffering, to bring them back to full health and normal functioning.” He has been approved by NJ Top Docs for three consecutive years.
