Get to know Physical Therapist Dr. Ramakrishnan Kavaserry, who serves patients in Henrico County, Virginia. 

Dr. Kavaserry is a board-certified physical therapist who is currently serving patients at RVA Physical Therapy in Henrico County, Virginia. The practice utilizes multiple physical therapy treatments that provide the best possible outcomes for patients. In addition to evaluation and treatment skills, the therapists at RVA Physical therapy teach various therapy related educational courses to local organizations in the Central Virginia area. 

Born in India, Dr. Kavaserry graduated with his bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Sri Ramachandra Medical College in 2002. Upon moving to the United States, he went on to earn his Master’s degree in physical therapy from Loma Linda University in California. In 2017, Dr. Kavaserry earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Utica College.

Dr. Kavaserry has over 17 years of clinical experience. He began his career as a practicing physical therapist in a skilled nursing facility, treating a wide variety of conditions and successfully getting his patients back to their active lifestyle. Over the years, he has gained expertise working across segments like outpatient, SNF, and home care. He has also gained expertise in manual therapy, using a combination of different techniques to relieve pain. 

Dr. Kavaserry’s passion for pain relief led him to pursue certifications in various techniques and to combine those techniques in an attempt to effectively treat his patients. He also lectures on different physical therapy related topics such as body mechanics. 

Dr. Kavaserry is an active member of the Virginia Physical Therapy Association and the American Physical Therapy Association. 

Physical therapy is a growing part of the medical industry. Physical therapists, like Dr. Kavaserry, are key to recovery for some patients who are recuperating from injuries, illnesses, and surgery. They work with patients to help them regain movement and manage pain, either in a hospital or clinical setting. 

In his spare time, Dr. Kavaserry loves spending time with his family and friends. He is extremely passionate about updating his knowledge by reading/attending courses to widen his expertise on the treatment of pain.
