SCH Long Island Nephrology is proud to highlight the exemplary work of Dr. Mark Solomon, a board certified nephrologist dedicated to enhancing kidney health for patients across Long Island. With a robust practice located at SCH Long Island Nephrology in Stony Brook and the SCH Suboxone Center in Port Jefferson, Dr. Solomon combines extensive medical expertise with a compassionate approach to patient care.

Currently serving as the Chief of Nephrology at both St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson and St. Catherine of Siena Hospital in Smithtown, Dr. Solomon is recognized for his leadership and commitment to advancing nephrology in the community. In addition to his role as Chief, he is also the Medical Director at Fresenius Dialysis Center in Centereach, where he oversees the delivery of high-quality dialysis services to patients in need.

Dr. Solomon specializes in diagnosing and managing a wide range of kidney diseases, including acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, electrolyte disorders, and kidney stones. He is adept at treating genetic conditions such as polycystic kidney disease and provides comprehensive post-kidney transplant care. His dedication to patient health is evident, as he frequently collaborates with primary care physicians and hospital teams to ensure seamless follow-up care for patients post-hospitalization.

Dr. Solomon’s impressive educational background laid the foundation for his successful career in nephrology. He earned his Medical Degree from St. George’s School of Medicine in 1988, followed by a residency in medicine at the University of Virginia Medical Center, completed in 1991. Dr. Solomon pursued a fellowship in nephrology at SUNY Stony Brook, finishing in 1992. Four years later, in 1996, he became board certified in nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, solidifying his expertise in the field.
