How long do stitches stay in after tooth extraction and bone graft?

Is bad taste in mouth normal after getting veneers?
It can be, especially if there was any residual cement that did not get removed. While cementing veneers, dentists use a wide variety of products which all taste terrible. If the bad taste does not go away within a day or so, I would follow up with your dentist. READ MORE

Numbness in face?
With all injections, there is risk of nerve damage and prolonged numbness. I would follow up with your dentist immediately. The majority of times that there is prolonged numbness, all symptoms are self-limiting within 6 weeks; however, it is important for the dentist to know the issue, map the numbness so progress of healing can be properly assessed, and they may give you some anti-inflammatory medications to try and help the healing. I would also recommend taking vitamin B12. READ MORE
Can a tooth get infected under a bridge?
For sure a tooth under a bridge can get infected. There are always at least 2 teeth that anchor the bridge and are called abutment teeth. If these teeth did not previously have a root canal, then they were live teeth that can still have the nerve die and get infected. Once this is the case, the treatment options are generally to root canal treat the tooth or extract the tooth. READ MORE
Why do my teeth feel sensitive after a crown?
It is normal to have some sensitivity after a crown preparation. What I always tell my patients is this: normal sensitivity is like a quick "zing" to cold that immediately goes away after the feeling of cold is gone. If at any point you have a lingering pain, a dull/achy pain, or truly severe pain, it is no longer normal and indicates that the nerve of the tooth is not recovering. If you have any of the "not normal" symptoms, you may need a root canal. READ MORE
Can a dental bridge be whitened?
Unfortunately, no. Dental crowns and bridges are made out of porcelain or ceramic and the color cannot be changed. Your option would be to whiten the rest of your teeth and replace the dental work to match. READ MORE
How do you fix a filling that is too high?
The only way to really fix this is to follow up with your dentist. They will adjust the bite by shaving it down. This generally does not require you to get numb. It is important that you go and have the bite corrected since having a "high" bite can lead to tooth sensitivity. READ MORE
Should I get local or general anesthesia for wisdom teeth?
This is a personal decision. If you are not nervous about dental procedures in general, then local anesthesia may be fine for you. You should prepare yourself for feelings of uncomfortable pressure. However, if you tend to get nervous before dental appointments or thinking about dental procedures, then general anesthesia might be the right choice for you! READ MORE
Should I brush my teeth after deep cleaning?
Absolutely! The point of the deep cleaning was to clean out all of the bacteria that was festering below the gumline on that buildup. Brushing your teeth will help prevent that buildup and hopefully help prevent the need for a deep cleaning in the future. READ MORE
Is periodontitis reversible?
Periodontitis is never reversible. With periodontal disease, the chronic inflammation leads to puffy, bleeding gums and loss of bone. Our best hope with periodontal disease is to eliminate the inflammation and bring health back to the gum tissue, keeping everything stable as it is. It is impossible to reverse the destruction to the bone that has already happened. READ MORE
Dental, hollow tooth?
I would follow up with your dentist right away. Most dentists want to know if there are any issues after a procedure they performed. READ MORE
Do all cavities require root canals?

Does the dentist numb you for a deep cleaning?
Absolutely! READ MORE
Do they give you anesthesia for a root canal?
They numb the tooth with a local anesthetic. Depending on the dentist performing the root canal, they may or may not have laughing gas to help with any anxiety. READ MORE
How long does a root planing and scaling take?
For half of your mouth, it should take about 1.5 hours. You will have two appointments like this to complete the deep cleaning. READ MORE
Could a toothache be caused by getting braces?
Yes! Tooth movement is painful. This is usually worse for a couple of days after braces have been tightened or adjusted, and then should return back to normal. If it does not, you should follow up with your dentist. READ MORE
Do I need to clean my dentures more than once a day?
Once a day is sufficient. I would also recommend asking for your dentist to clean them at your exam appointments. We have lots of good cleaners to help get anything off. READ MORE
