Dr. Massani is a hospitalist who is affiliated with Knapp Medical Center, located in Weslaco, Texas. Knapp Medical Center is a not-for-profit, acute care hospital, as well as a member of the Prime Healthcare Foundation - a 501(c)(3) public charity. The center works hard to provide state-of-the-art technology, progressive diagnostic and treatment options, and patient-focused care. Throughout recent years, Knapp has been recognized as one of the best healthcare facilities in the United States.

Dr. Massani is also affiliated with McAllen Heart Hospital, located in McAllen, Texas. As one of the first freestanding cardiology and cardiovascular hospital built in the United States, McAllen Heart Hospital is dedicated solely to heart-related medical needs for patients.

Dr. Massani received her medical degree from M. P. Shaw Medical College in Jamnagar, India. After graduation, she went on to complete a residency at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pennsylvania, followed by an internship at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Massani is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Hospital medicine in the United States is the medical specialty concerned with the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. A hospitalist is a physician who cares for patients while in the hospital. Similar to a primary care doctor, a hospitalist is trained in general internal medicine and other specialties. From the point of admission through discharge, a hospitalist manages a patient’s treatment course by coordinating and consulting with specialists, scheduling tests, monitoring progress, as well as discharging the patient to his or her primary care physician.
