What can you do to manage your diabetes?
Try to lose excess weight. Eat your meals at the same time everyday and not skip a meal and do some form of exercise daily. This is the basic start in treating Type 2 diabetes. Medications may be needed. See your doctor. READ MORE

To answer your question. You can live to a ripe old age if you follow certain rules. 1. Eat at the same time every day and not skip a meal on medication. 2. Keep your pre-meal glucose levels between 90 - 130. 3. Keep your 2 hours after eating glucose levels below 180. 4. It works. My patients live into their 90's without complications. READ MORE
What is the emergency treatment for low blood sugar?
I would recommend in an emergency, liquid sugar at home. Examples are Orange juice, Gingerale, Coke, and Pepsi. Liquid sugar products raise your blood sugar faster than solid sugar products. The usual time is 10 minutes. READ MORE
Do I have hyperthyroidism?

How can I prevent diabetes?
If you are younger than 30, you may develop type 1 diabetes. There are some tests that can be done to see if you are at risk. If you are older than 30 and overweight, check the Hba1c to see if you fall in the pre-diabetes range.
