After earning her medical degree from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine in 1978, Dr. Temprosa-Lanez relocated to the United States. There, she performed her residencies in psychiatry at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital and Cabrini Medical Center.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders.
