Hi, I definitely understand your concern. But there are many things that can cause lung nodules and swollen lymph nodes to include infection. Since you had prior pneumonia, it could be that. Until you have a complete work-up, it’s really hard to tell. I know it’s hard to stay calm and not worry about the worst, but things being more common, it’s probably infectious. What does this mean on my x-ray?

Vape side effects?
It likely only caused very little damage. But if continued, can lead to significant lung disease. I have seen rapid lung disease develop in a guy in his late 20’s, who now is on oxygen for life. Please stay away from this trend at all costs. Dr Cox READ MORE
What does "overlapping structures limit visualization" mean on a thoracic spine x-ray?
It means other normal bones are seen on top of the structures evaluated. You are taking a 3D structure like the pelvis and making it 2D with X-rays. This can limit evaluation at times. Dr Cox READ MORE
Why do you have to fast for a PET scan?
The radioactive radiotracer used is attached to a glucose molecule which is a sugar seen in food. Fasting prevents uptake within the stomach or bowel which could make the radiologist think there is a concerning tumor or it can result in decrease of the tracer that any other tumor may pick up which could lead to a false negative exam. Can a CT scan cause brain cancer?

Which is better MRI or CT scan for brain?
Depends on what you are looking for. Concern for brain bleed is better with CT. MRI is better for stroke. Dr Cox READ MORE
What is the advantage of fluoroscopy?
Depends on what is needed to be seen. It is a great functional study looking for esophageal pathology or bowel obstruction. Also used for needle guidance for procedures. Dr Cox READ MORE
MRI found many white spots and high flair signals in my head?
Depends on how bad they are. If they are really bad and located in the central part of the brain it could be related to MS. However, most of these spots are just the normal part of aging and are not the cause of your confusion etc... Dr Cox READ MORE
How much radiation is in an ultrasound?

What can a finger X-ray show?

How long does it take for MRI results to be ready?
Depends on the facility. Our group reads them out in 1 day. Not uncommon for 3-5 days. Dr Cox READ MORE
Is a head CT scan safe for children?
Yes they are safe. However if they have to get multiple CT exams, it does have a slight increased risk for some cancers as CT exams do have radiation. A few scans here or there does not result in a significant risk. Dr Cox READ MORE
Does a sinus x-ray show infection?
It can if you have sever sinusitis. A CT of the face is more sensitive. Dr Cox READ MORE
Can you be allergic to IV contrast?
Yes you can. But unless you have had it prior, it is impossible to know if you will have an allergic reaction. However, contrast reaction is rare. Dr Cox READ MORE
Can you see nerve damage in an MRI?

Does an MRI of brains show tumors?
