Get to know Internist/Hospitalist Dr. Anca M. Salaru, who serves patients throughout the State of New Jersey.

Dr. Salaru is a seasoned internist/hospitalist who specializes in the care of adult patients, including those over the age of 65. She has extensive training and experience in internal medicine, and is affiliated with Hackensack Meridian Health, tending to patients at Riverview Medical Center.

Throughout her academic career, she received her medical education at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Victor Babes in Romania in 1995. Upon relocating to the United States, she completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital in 2000 and 2002, respectively.

Passionate about her profession, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in Internal Medicine are called Internists. Physicians specializing in Hospital Medicine manage patients who are hospitalized and who often have complex medical problems. Hospitalists provide comprehensive care and promote overall well-being of their patients.

As a testament to her success, Dr. Salaru has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award in 2009. She prides herself on her ability to offer the best possible care for her patients, and is committed to their overall health and well-being.

In addition to her extensive medical training and experience, she is also fluent in German,English and Romanian, making her able to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.
