Rheumatologist Questions Arthritis

Is there a permanent cure for arthritis?

My mom is 57 years old and has been diagnosed with arthritis. Her condition has just started so I wanted to check if there is a permanent cure for arthritis or will she have to be on permanent medication.

Hello!

Good question - it depends on the type of arthritis. Yes, most types require medication for disease control or symptom control life long. Please consult with a rheumatologist for a more clear treatment pathway.
Thanks so much!!

Probably one of the 105 types of arthritis. The diagnosis must be more specific before an appropriate treatment is rendered.
There are a number of different conditions grouped under the general title of arthritis. To answer this question, it is important to know which diagnosis the patient has. In general, there is no permanent cure for most forms of arthritis, although many people with arthritis live long, healthy lives.
There is a C word associated with arthritis. It is not "cure," it is "control." Even if a problem is made better, as we grow older, joints tend to wear out. Not all therapy is medicine. Exercise, weight control, strengthening, for example, are all helpful at controlling joint pain. There is never a bad time to start caring for your joints. Hello,

There are many types of arthritis. For now, there are no known cures to any arthritis types. There are lots of effective treatments. The key is to get the correct arthritis diagnosis. That will help establish the best treatment to help with your quality of life and function.
Hey there unfortunately, there is no cure for arthritis but there is remission period. Depending on what kind of arthritis she has. Please see a Rheumatologist in your area. Diet, exercise and BHRT definitely helps my patients. Best of luck
