We start with 6 sessions at 2x a week for 3 weeks. Everyone responses differently to treatment but usually expect you to be 30-40% better by the 6th session. Then we will taper down to every other week, so on and so forth.
Yes. Chronic headaches is one of the key complaints that acupuncture can definitely assist with. Patients will need to be diagnosed individually as causes will vary from person to person. But most definitely chronic headaches is one of the most effective treatment using acupuncture.
As a practitioner, I would mostly use acupuncture as tglhe treatment for headaches/migraines.
Acupuncture treatment is good for chronic headaches.
Aloha, This would depend on what type of chronic headache you have, the location in the head and various other factors. Traditional Chinese medicine is based on a balance of energies in the body, mind and spirit. Each person and each situation is addressed individually based on your health history and current conditions. I would recommend seeing a professional acupuncturist in your area Thank you, Gina Musetti Master Gina Musetti, L.Ac. The treatment of chronic headaches is going to be based on the symptoms you are presenting. Most can be alleviated with acupuncture but some might have herbal supplementation to affectively speedup recovery. Check with your primary and/or neurologist to see if alternative medicine would be a great option. - Live Happy, Michael
Acupuncture, and diet changes.
Yes, acupuncture can very successfully treat chronic headaches.
Acupuncture, along with herbs, and sometimes massage, can relieve and get rid of chronic headaches and migraines.
A lot is going to depend on why you're experiencing chronic headache. If you haven't done so already, you should start with your primary care provider and see what causes can be ruled out.

After that, your treatment options could range.

Massage helps some people, particularly if the primary cause of the headache is stress.

Chiropractic can help if the cause of the headache has to do with nerves being pinched in the neck.

Acupuncture has an extremely good track record for headache/migraine due to a wide variety of causes.

Sometimes chronic headache or migraine has a diet and/or lifestyle component. Identifying and managing those issues can often provide relief.

Prescription medication can help.

I've had patients get relief using Botox therapy.

Sometimes surgery is the answer.
