When can I drink after a colonoscopy?

I will have a colonoscopy. When can I drink after a colonoscopy?

I am quite sure you can drink any fluids you can tolerate and can start eating as well what ever is tolerated, the fluids before are the important ones.
Generally if no special contraindications, you can resume normal diet and fluid 2 hours after procedure, bottom line: you are alert enough to drink and eat, no nausea or vomiting.
After being awake enough to do so, keep some ice chips in our mouth. As a patient wakes up more and more take sips of fluid over the time of about 1/2 hour to know if person is ready to drink. The time for this to happen will vary from person to person as it depends on how your body metabolizes the anesthesia., which should be light. .
